One Day at Epcot in Disney World

Epcot in a Day

You have been looking forward to this Disney vacation for so long, and it’s finally here! Now what to bring? Where to go? What to do? Which parks? What to skip? What about Fast Pass+? This post has got you covered. After reading this, you are going to be so prepared to walk through the doors of Epcot!

Before You Go

>> Get your Disney bag ready – click here to find out what to bring

>> Download the My Disney Experience app on your phone

>> Book your Fast Pass+

Disney’s Fast Pass+ is a way to skip the line at the rides. You can book 3 Fast Passes but not 2 of tier one. (The most popular rides (tier one) are: Soarin’, Fast Track, and Frozen)

Pro Tip: Book all 3 of your Fast Passes as early as you can in the day (before one o’clock) because you can keep checking the My Disney Experience app and new ones will pop up throughout the day.

Choose one tier one ride to book a Fast Pass+

Soarin’ Around the World | Soarin’ is a hang-glider simulator ride. Get ready to fly over some amazing locations around the globe! Soarin’ is an absolute must-do.

Test Track | At Test Track, you design a car and then get into the car you designed to see how it does on the road.

>> If you don’t use Fast Pass+ for Soarin’, get it for Test Track. If you use Fast Pass+ for Soarin’, either do Test Track via the Single Rider line, or do it very first thing in the morning or late in the evening.

Frozen Ever After | (I only recommend it if you have kids or you love Frozen because of the crazy wait time.) This boat ride in the Norway pavilion features characters from Frozen. Since opening, it has become the most popular attraction at Disney World, with waits over 90 minutes.

When You Get There

>> Get there at about 8:30

>> You go through security and they go through your bag

>> Go straight to the ride you don’t have a Fast Pass+ for: Soarin’, Fast Track, or Frozen.

>> From there go in a circle to your other Fast Pass+

Tired? Find a film or show in almost every country. There are also many quite places to sit. You can also grab a drink at any restaurant and enjoy the scenery.

Future World

Opens at 9 AM

I recommend doing everything if the wait is 20 minutes or less.

Club Cool | Free soda from around the world. Must do if you like soda and free.

Misson: Space | Simulator thrill-ride that sends you crashing on Mars. The green side is a space view of the world. There are two versions: green (less intense/no spinning) and orange (more intense/spinning). I recommend doing both. Get a Fast Pass+ for it, then do the green side when the wait is 20 minutes or less.

Advanced Training Lab | Games for kids and air conditioned.

Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure | Game for kids. Handheld scavenger hunt through World Showcase via fake phones.

Spaceship Earth | A slow-moving ride about the history of how humans communicate. Don’t use a Fast Pass+ for this. Do it on your way out when the wait is 30 minutes or less.

Turtle Talk with Crush | Kids interact with Crush from Finding Nemo in a screen-based attraction that mimics a water tank. No Fast Pass+.

Seas with Nemo and Friends | A dark ride in The Seas pavilion with the Finding Nemo characters trying to find Nemo. No Fast Pass+. It’s a short ride, so it normally has a short line.

Living with the Land | Slow moving boat ride about agriculture. This was one of my favorites! Get a Fast Pass+.

Journey into Imagination with Figment | Ride showcasing the power of imagination. It’s very kiddish, but I had an extra Fast Pass+ after my 3 were used. If you can wait less than 20 minutes, it’s something to do to break up the morning of walking.

World Showcase

Opens at 11 AM

Start on one side and explore the different countries. Make the most of your experience: eat and drink around the world. It doesn’t matter what side you start on, and you can’t go wrong with anything you buy to eat!

Pro Tip: You can get one item from each country and share between your friends and family or choose a county to eat lunch at then another to eat dessert

The American Adventure | The American Adventure is an audio animatronics stage show about American history.

Gran Fiesta Tour | Boat ride through Mexico featuring the Three Caballeros and Donald Duck with Mexico’s culture as a backdrop.

Impressions de France | Wide-format film highlighting the culture and natural beauty of France.

Reflections of China | This Circle-Vision 360 film about China. Don’t watch this or the O Canada when you are needing a sitting break. You stand to watch the 360 films.

O Canada | O Canada is a 14 minute Circle-Vision 360 film about Canada.

Illumnations Reflections of Earth | Firework show at 9 PM. Don’t get a Fast Pass+ for this. I’ve heard the best place to watch it is on bridge by France.
